US Presidential Candidate Asks Frito-Lay To Cut Ties With It Gets Better

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has asked Frito-Lay the producer of Doritos, to cut ties with pro-LGBT non-profit group It Gets Better.

Since Doritos unveiled its special-edition rainbow chips, many people have taken to social media to voice their concerns and threaten to boycott the company.

In a letter to Frito-Lay, Huckabee wrote, “Please tell me that you will publicly disassociate yourself with his hate-filled rhetoric, bigotry toward people of faith, and the violent threats he has issued,” referring to It Gets Better co-founder Dan Savage.

Savage has been reported as telling Dr. Ben Carson, another presidential candidate to “suck my d#ck” after Carson stated that being gay was a choice.

A spokeswoman for Frito-Lay told Fox News, “The limited-time Doritos Rainbows all have been claimed and the program has concluded. Details around the fundraising efforts will be shared in the future at an appropriate time. Important to note, our involvement has just been with the It gets Better Project. We have not partnered with Dan Savage, and he has not been involved with this initiative.”
