Dean Paton of Big Heritage has taken on anti-gay demonstrators at a LGBT Pride march in Chester. Paton stood next to bible-wielding Christian protesters holding a placard reading "HOMOPHOBES ARE STATISTICALLY MORE LIKELY TO BE GAY" with an arrow pointing to the group of bigots.
Paton's silent protest was filmed and titled "how we deal with bigots in Chester" which has since gone viral since being published online on Saturday. Organizers of the Chester Pride march sent many thanks to Paton for putting their festival on the map in a positive manner.
While Christian protesters appear unphased by Paton's presence, his placard drew cheers and laughs from Pride participants.
"We didn't expect it to go viral like ti has, we just wanted to give the protesters a kick in the teeth really but they didn't even seem to notice we were doing it," Paton told the Chester Chronicle.
